Dark Crystal Age of Resistance

I hate Netflix more than a Podling hates bathing for canceling this show with only one season. It was every bit a work of art as the film it's a prequel to.

I'll never pay for another Netflix subscription, instead buying fan-made Blu-rays of their shows. 

Spend my morning writing, churned out the fifth and final of the five introductory chapters for my main character while introducing some of the town in which they all live in together. 

Went and bought myself another mechanical keyboard.

 

It's a beautiful little piece of equipment. Produced by 8bitdo, the same company behind Ultimate Pro8 which is easily the best controller I have ever used.

The design theme is based on the Nintendo Entertainment System, with the red on black and white color scheme.

I think that If I had any sort of complaint about it, it's that the clicks of the keys art are a bit TOO loud. I don't keep my music super loud while writing, and I can hear the(satisfying) ticks and tocks of the keys as I press them.

Minor gripe aside, I am VERY pleased with this thing.

Alaskan Klee Kai

I got to meet an Alaskan Klee Kai today, a species of dog that I had no idea existed. The poor little guy was extremely shy and wasn't sure of how to deal with all the attention he was getting. 

Harvest Moon 64~!!

I have been playing it on and off this past week as my go-between game after Trails in the Sky sessions, as well as my Nostalgia Season title for the time being

The series has come a long way since these days. Heck even the title that immediately follows this one sees a slew of quality of life improvements, but even despite that, if you can get in a groove with it, Harvest Moon 64 is still a ton of fun to play and really super weird at times. 

BEATEN: Super Mario Land

 

Sitting on the front stoop of my house back in 1991/92, swapping between this and Spider-man on my older brother's OG Gameboy was the only time I can actually remember ever playing this particular title. I picked it up the other day to kick off the Nostalgia Celebreation and plowed through it in less than an hour.

Nostalgic Celebration has begun!

Every spring/summer, I like to shift my game time away from more modern releases to classics from the 64bit and prior. There is just something about the warmer weather that brings that drive to play older games to a boil.

So kicking things off, I played through Super Mario Land for the first time since the very early 90s. I remember playing it last on the OG Gameboy that my brother owned, sitting on the front porch. 

Now, I am playing Breath of Fire 3 for the first time in several years, and it looks beautiful on the OLED screen on the Deck. 

Probably gonna watch a few movies from 97/98 as well throughout the day. 

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Okami

 

I can't remember the last time I played through this game. Probably on the PS3 or PS4, maybe? Either way, I'm playing it on Steam Deck now and am loving it just as much as I did on my first run with the Wii version way back in 2008. 

This is one of those games I would put in my "Timeless Classic" tier of video games. One that has very few faults or possesses oddities that would date it as time flowed on. It sits up there with Chrono Trigger and Sonic 3 & Knuckles as far as games that will be able to be played a hundred years from now and still hold up then as they did at launch/today.

Another one of those that had stagnated on my To-Be-Played list. Really fun little Search Action romp with a great cast of characters and fun gameplay, all wrapped up in a really well told, intriguing story.

A really fun little Zelda Souls-Like game that I had been wanting to play forever. Managed to knock out the main story in less than ten hours.
